4 Most Common Snacks In Both Indonesia and Malaysia

Welcome back to our seventh blog!

You know that in the past six weeks, we have compared a lot of Indonesia's and Malaysia's transportation, instant noodles, breakfast, budgeting foods, celebrations, and murtabak.

For this week's blog, we have invited a group of university students help us to compare  Indonesia's and Malaysia's most common snacks by having BLIND TEST SNACK CHALLENGE!!!!!

This blog is based on the reviews given by the tester for each snacks!!!

Now let's see what are the reviews they give !!!


1. Potato chips ( CHITATO VS COTTAGE  FRIES
One of our snacks challenges of potato chips set

Left Side is Indonesia' brand (komposisiconsumergood.blogspot.my),
Right Side is Malaysia's brand (dzafstore.com)

We have chooses two type of potato chips which are Chitato from Indonesia and the other one is Cottage Fries from Malaysia. From the result of the challenge, most of them prefer Chitato because:-

1) More crispy

 2) More tasty and strong felt rather than Cottage Fries

 3) The price of Chitato usually are more cheaper than Cottage Fries with the different of approximately 1 ringgits if we compare in Malaysia Ringgits.
2. Peanuts ( KACANG GARUDA VS KACANG CAP TANGAN )

Peanuts consider one of the most common snack which most of people likes to eat during watching movie or chit chat with friends, especially senior citizens. The two famous brand of peanuts in the both countries has been chosen which are Kacang Garuda from Indonesia and Kacang Cap Tangan from Malaysia. Even though, the two peanuts are similar, but Kacang Garuda still gets more votes as:

1) Kacang Garuda's taste is stronger and more delicious

 2) The nutshell of it are more easy to open 

 3) Kacang Garuda are more sweet than Kacang Cap Tangan

 4) The nuts aren't dry compare to Kacang Cap Tangan

3. Chinese New Year' common snacks ( AMPLANG VS MUNCHY'S )

Since Chinese New Year(CNY)  just passed, we have chooses two common snacks which people like to eat during CNY and also normal days. Which are Amplang (traditional savoury seafood cracker)from Indonesia and Munchy's (wafer rolls) from Malaysia. The reason below shows why the tester likes Amplang more :

1)Can easily fulfill people stomach

 2) The size of Amplang is more convenience for people to hold and eat.

 3) The flavour of Amplang is more strong as it is make from prawn.

 4) The taste of it reminds people of home.
4. Chocolate ( SILVER QUEEN VS BERYL'S CHOCOLATE )

Right Side is Malaysia's brand (brilliant-marketing.com)

There are two type of chocolates which are Silver Queen that produced from Indonesia and Beryl's Chocolate from Malaysia which they are not included in the snacks challenges due to some personal reasons. However, we manage to get the reviews through some experienced testers, who have tried both snacks before, and here is their reviews of the snacks :

1) The chocolate flavour of Silver Queen is more strong.

 2) The almond inside Silver Queen are more soft and easy to chew.

 3) The price is cheaper and the design of the package is more attractive.

 4) The composition of the sugar is lesser, so it is more suitable for people who like to eat sweets stuff but same time they want to diet.

From the table above, you can easily find out that Indonesia's snack is much better than Malaysia's one. However, this is just the tester's personal opinion!!! Can't be represented as everyone's opinion!!! There is just a small sample of population!!!
